The Bunn GRX is the least expensive coffee brewer in the Bunn lineup. It features the same performance and quality of the more expensive Bunn models, but the housing is not as fancy (instead of having the stainless steel water reservoir visible, it is actually shrouded in plastic). Modeled after commercial coffee makers, the Bunn GRX can brew up to 10 cups of coffee in just three minutes. It utilizes a water reservoir to keep water hot and on standby, always ready to brew a pot of piping hot coffee quickly and without the normal wait time associated with other home brewers. How does the Bunn GRX do this? When you first set the Bunn GRX up, you add up to 10 cups of cold water to the water reservoir and turn the power switch on. It will take about 15 minutes to heat the water initially. This water will stay hot and ready until you go to brew a pot of coffee. To begin brewing, you simply add cold water to the reservoir, which then displaces the hot water already in the system. This hot water is sent to the filter basket instantly where it diffuses through your freshly ground coffee. Afterwards, the cold water you just poured in will be heated for your next round of coffee brewing. And if you're planning to be away, just flip the Vacation switch and the heating unit won't continue to maintain the water temperature in a ready state. Detailed Product Features: Simple Controls Simple and quick operation is the key with the GRX. There are no timers or clocks. Two switches control the whole operation. The main power switch is located on the side of the machine and it is called the Vacation switch. Since the GRX is always keeping the water hot, you should turn the brewer off before leaving for extended periods of time (longer than 2 days). When you return, turn on the switch and the machine will be ready to brew coffee after 15 minutes of heating. An illuminated switch located on the front of the machine turns the warming plate for the carafe on or off. Hot Plate Unique to Bunn, the hot plate is made of porcelain and features an on/off switch. Stainless Steel Boiler The boiler is made of stainless steel to insure long life and better tasting coffee. It is equipped with a thermostat that regulates the water temperature so that it is kept at the optimum temperature for brewing. Advanced Spray Head Water Diffuser In order to achieve the optimum flavor and aroma extraction from the coffee grounds, hot water must saturate all of the grounds early on in the brewing process. Bunn designed the spray head to shower every inch of the coffee grounds.
